Orange tree!

November 6, 2009

Hey everybody! Happy friday 🙂

Finally, finally, the weekend. Not that my weekends are veeeeeery eventful, but I love spending time with my loved ones (who doesn’t?). I actually have work to do this weekend, I have to finish editing some wedding photos. Not very fun, but I really need to get it done.

Lunch yesterday was leftover bean burger, whole wheat bread with queijo fresco and tomato and lettuce salad. I wasn’t feeling very creative, can you tell?

It was good and kept me satisfied though, that’s what matters.

Mid afternoon snack was a big apple.

Dinner was a bit of fish and green beans (with some olive oil for flavor, otherwise it’d be a little boring).

Today breakfast was 2 weetabix biscuits + low fat milk. Also, some walnuts and almonds.
I went to the gym with Filipa, this time we went swimming for 40 minutes. Swimming really tires me! And then we spent 5/10 minutes on the jacuzzi talking. Ahah Awesome.

Lunch was not so good.

Apple with a plain yogurt and cinnamon. I made this and started eating it… but I wasn’t feeling it. So I gave up (I ate about half of it, more or less) and had a slice of bread + queijo fresco and a square of dark chocolate.

My afternoon will be spent catching up on tv shows and whatnot. Sounds pretty good, right? 😉

Before I show you the pic of the day, Beth @ Dining and Dishing nominated me for the “Over the Top Blog” award.
Thank you Beth!

Here’s today’s picture of the day:

That’s a branch from our orange tree we have on our property in the south of Portugal. There’s two orange trees and we also have a carob tree, a pomegranate tree, an almond tree, etc. That was taken during the summer so obviously the oranges weren’t in season. But it’s pretty cool when someone goes there during the winter and brings home some oranges. They’re great for juice!

Hope you’re having a great friday!

    Hey Diana,

I have a really random question. How do you get your photos to have so much color? The colors always seem to just POP. So bright and beautiful. I was considering splurging on a Canon Rebel DSLR camera, and I was wondering what camera you used? Is a real camera worth it, or should I just stick to my point-and-shoot? Do you touch up your photos in photoshop a lot? Or is it the camera itself that captures the colors so well? I took a photography class in college, but I used an actual darkroom instead of photoshop. It was neat, and I’m glad I took it, but it doesn’t help me out in this day and age where digital photography rules. I guess I’m not really sure WHAT I’m asking – I’m so new at this photography thing. I just know that you’re knowledgeable about this stuff, and I don’t even know where to begin! Any help or advice you could give would be really appreciated =)

You’re so lucky to have an orange tree! Oranges are the best when they’re in season – almost time now!

I hate when I make something and then realize I wasn’t really in the mood for it.

    Love that photo 🙂

I’m sorry the apple didn’t work out. It looks good in the picture though 🙂

    Lovely orange tree!

Same questions as Allison from Balance in Bites. Tell us all the camera info you know! Haha. I really enjoy taking pictures, and my mom has been questioning what I’d like for Christmas. Not sure if I should ask for a new camera!

That’s awesome to be able to enjoy an orange from your own tree.

    Congrats on your award.

That is great to have fruit trees on your property. I can’t imagine having fresh orange juice from your tree every once in awhile–a super treat (it is too cold here for that).

    Enjoy your weekend.
